Discover the Pyrenees

The area is one of outstanding natural beauty and a walker's paradise. There are walks of all levels from easy to strenuous. There is an abundance of good footpaths and forestry tracks and for the energetic there are plenty of summits waiting to be bagged.

Mille Fleurs is situated on the edge of the Pyrenean foothills and our location makes it easy to reach very different areas of the mountains. There are the high pastures of Luchon to the east, the Neouvielle Natural Reserve, land of lakes, to the south and Vignemale, the highest peak in the French Pyrenees, to the west. Each area has its own particular character and charm.

At Mille Fleurs you have the choice of a guided or an independent walking holiday.

Guided Walking

We have been leading small walking groups in the Pyrenees for eleven years. Most of our walkers have been back for another visit and some have been for three or even four times. We walk at a steady but unhurried pace, taking time to enjoy the surroundings and we can tailor the walks to suit your preferences.

The walking season is from the beginning of May to the end of October. In June we find walking conditions ideal and offer guided holidays for groups of four people at a special price. The starting dates are Sunday 31st May and Sunday 7th, 14th and 21st of June.

There is a minimum stay of four nights which would include three walks. (A stay of a week would include 5 walks.) A typical walk takes between four and five hours including breaks and there is usually a drive of about an hour to the starting point.

The package consists of comfortable en-suite accommodation, breakfast, an evening meal with wine plus the programme of guided walks. We provide a packed lunch for each walk. The price per couple is 130 euros per day. Prices are based on four people (two couples in two rooms).
During the rest of the walking season the price per couple is 150 euros a day.

Independent Walking

If you wish to explore on your own we have good local knowledge and we will be happy to advise and assist you. We recommend that you visit the Pyrenees from May to October. Bear in mind that from July 14th to August 31st is the French summer holiday period and during that time there are more people out in the mountains.

If you are walking independently our normal Bed and Breakfast tariff applies (with no minimum number of people or days) and you can choose to have dinner here at Mille Fleurs or elsewhere.
