Our Region
Our region has a lot to offer the visitor and it's well worth spending a little time in discovering it.
Whether you take an extra day whilst on your journey to the UK or come to us for a week to escape the Costa, you will find plenty of interest.
The Pyrenees can easily be enjoyed by car and we can suggest various itineraries that show off the mountains at their best. The area is also outstanding for walking,
or for the very energetic there is cycling.
You can take a cable car to the top of the Pic du Midi, one of the highest peaks in the region at 2877 metres with a breathtaking panorama.
Alternatively you can take a trip underground in one of the many caves of the region. They all have fantastic limestone formations and some include a boat or train ride within the cave.
Thermal springs are another feature of the area and they have been developed in the nearby Spa towns. In Bagneres de Bigorre, for example, is ‘Aquensis’ where you can enjoy an animated pool, another pool with hydro-massage and sub aquatic music, and then a Turkish bath followed by a sauna or a rooftop Jacuzzi (situated conveniently near to the rooftop bar and sun lounge).
There are many attractive villages and towns in the area and the surrounding countryside is very picturesque. The roads are well maintained and not overcrowded. We can suggest routes if you wish to explore away from the mountains.
